Indigo naturalis extract is a concentrated mixture made by extracting (or ''pulling'') isatis indigotica's chemical constituents out of the inert plant fiber (cellulose) with a solution of grain alcohol and water. Good indigo naturalis extract should optimally preserve the aroma, taste and biological activity of isatis indigotica from which it is made.
The granular indigo is processed by spray drying the slurry of acid washing indigo with additive,This product is dark-blue uniform powdery or granular. It cannot be dissolved in water and common organic solvents such as ethanol and aether, but can be dissolved in hot aniline and melt phthalic anhydride.
